Sorry for the horrible title, but I couldn't think of anything else to write. Anyways, as I know this post is going to be flamed, I don't really mind naming it that.
My journey through WoW began during the alpha. Then I went through beta, and
on to the finished game. My original toon was a hunter, and of course, I knew nothing about the class. In 2006, I recreated a hunter and started raiding. I wasn't a noob, I knew talent trees well, I had good pet management, and shot cycles,
and my guild was doing fairly well. I decided to hone my FPS skills, so I retired my char, that type of junk.
When TBC hit the shelves, I recreated another hunter (for those who think that I don't play other classes, I was fairly proficient at tanking with a warr) and used BM to get to heroics. I switched to SV, when that craze started on Zam, and found out its nice playability. I got into a guild that was Kara ready, but it wasn't that simple.
There were so damned many horrible hunters it was unbelievable. Melee, not using pets, and those who just don't know anything. They criticized ME for using AG, as they were clearly set on the fact that every build was the same. They couldn't CC worth a damn, couldn't build a decent build,
and couldn't DPS. I'm not saying I was a perfect hunter by any means, but I was good enough to keep my DPS high on the meters when I was needed.
Then I realized, (don't sympathize me) how repetitive and tedious MMOs were. I'm not saying that they are bag games, and I find that WoW was a great game, but I realized that I just didn't like them.
The main idea of this post is, yes, about how MMOs are repetitive enough to turn an experienced player away. I am not jsut saying this about me, because coming from a family of gamers, (yes, that sounds awful) including a terrific RTSer, none of them enjoy MMOs.
The opinions I am asking for are mainly those involving huntards, etc., though feel free to comment
on my main topic.
I sincerely do not want this moved, or deleted, or anything of the kind, you can lock it or whatever, but I doubt that any of the above are going to happen. (if it does, well than I am mistaken).
I
am fully aware of what type of response I'm going to get, so flame away, but I just wanted to tell my story. For those who say, "If you knew that you were going to be flamed, why bother posting?", I just wanted to get a response.
