Hello there huntery folks. As you might’ve read in that gramatically abysmal thread I just put up in the general forums, I’ve only just rolled a hunter. Now I’ve read through the sticky and read up the wiki on shot rotations, but I was left with a couple of questions which I figured I could ask here; 1. As far as shot rotations go, I’ve got the idea that the most effective way to shoot is to time my shot right after an auto shot. Am I Right? 2. When I’m engaging a single mob, I now often jump away from the mob, timing my jumps so that I get a couple extra auto shots off. Is this a good idea or am I simply going through way too much hassle for no bonus at all? Perhaps I should simply melee the last ~20? 3. This question seems dreaded, but I’m going to ask it anyway… What spec should I go? The thing is, right now I’d like to take it slow and have my spec mainly give passive improvements so I don’t get washed over with extra shots and stings right away (Even though Survival looks like my thing in the end). What I’m currently working towards is this; I just want the improved mark because I can’t stand such a trivial ability costing mana, and I’ve already somewhat learned how to deal with Aimed Shot. My problem is that I’m not sure whether Aspect Mastery is worth it or whether I should simply continue in Marksmanship or Survival. Add in the fact that I’m leveling my first toon on a PvP server and I get completely confused about what to go for. I am not interested in the ‘most effective’ spec or the one with the highest DPS, I’m just curious to insights on what I’ve conjured up so far and what proper hunters think might work best for me. 4. Tying in with question 3, what about my pet? At the moment I run with Tearclaw, my trusted Raptor, and I seem to be doing well. How much does my pet matter? Am I going to be a huge lot better off by grabbing for example a turtle? Or is Tearclaw here to stay? Also, is there any logics behind at which level I get pet talent points? Tearclaw is level 17 right now and hasn’t earned one yet. In advance, thank you for your insight =)-You say I’m full of sht, that I’m a hypocrite I shouldn’t talk when I can’t take the advice that I give, Well maybe you’re right, but open your eyes: the main difference here is that I try, try, try…Elite beasts have exactly the same stats as normal beasts after taming. There is absolutely no difference. Perhaps you’re confused with exotic pets. That term ‘exotic’ is given to pets that can only be tamed by beastmastery hunters, having 51 points in the BM tree. ‘Exotic’ pets have different skill sets than other pets. I think Blizzard intended them to be a little more useful than normal pets. However in practice they’re not really. All pets of beastmastery hunters get an additional four points in their talent trees to be spent. In that fashion, all pets of BM hunters are a bit tougher than the non-BM hunter. My 2ents… My sense is that you want more spirit, as this is still an important stat for Holy and translates into Spell Power for you too. Your spellpower andrit look ne but your regen is pretty low and without Rapture you’re going to feel that. Maybe swap aouple of gemsehants for spirit? Other than that, it’s just a matter of getting used to different spells, whh I’m sure you’ll do pretty quk. Keep Renew up on the tank, keep PoM going all the time, Greater Heal is your big heal and Flash Heal is still Flash heal.oH + PoH for AOE damage. I’ve been known to throw down aoH every 6 sonds even when only aouple people are taking damage, just to pr Surge of Light. I like instant Flash Heals. edited for typos hehe I’m sure you look lovely in a lovely red dress. As you’re still gearing up just look out for new drops with plenty of spirit. Its possible you may want to think about your UI. It helps me alot to have it ne andlear when I get surge of light andleaasting prs – you don’t want to miss them. It is possible, you will be playing support to your shammy, but it is possible =) In my guild we have a few Holy pallies, so i’m often asked to help raid heal instead of tank healing (I’m Di). Youan soak up a lot of raid damage by use of PW:S and a borrowed time Flash heal. If you ask to be put in the melee gp youan also do a lot by a gyphed Holy Nova, or a PI prayer of healing, and the shamanan ditH more towards theasters. Just passing this on bause i spced Holy rently for malygos, found i hadompletely forgotten how to play Holy, missed penae, ran OOM bause of L2Pgear issues (blush), and respced bk as soon as iould o.O

Dude the key to beatingasters is to make them think you are E-Z mode. Whh in mostases, they already do. For example: World PvP. Frost Mage startsasting Polymorph on me. Now Iould easily jsut reflt it as I had justome off a mob with 28 rage and dreasing. I let him do it. He The battle progresses with him owning me as I shield bash and stuff, just bas textbook abilities. Finally, he gets me frozen and begins toast frostbolt (mistake, he thinks I’m a dumbass). Last sond spell reflt to hit him (FB + IL) for 6.2k, zerker, inteept, dmg trinket, ww + exute = dead mage. Now this will never happen in a serious arena fight. But it will happen in bg’s. It happens a lot. Rend is useless but pieing howl is godly. HS is also useless. Honestly be patient. It’s about surviving and waiting for aky mistake. Realistally you will never win against someone who is out to kill you ttally and in theorrt manner. Youannot put out the damage.oussion blow is godly as well. It’s all about stuns, keeping themlose, and at the same timeapitalizing. Think that’s all. SS is your asset here. It hits hard and gets rid off benefial mag effts. OMG it’s so good. Good lk man, it realyl won’t be fun pvping prot without a healer buddy and maybe a mage.As a prot warrior, youan lk someone downompletly for 8+ sonds, depending on whether or not their trinket is up. Inteept > hamstring >oussion blow > intimadating shout. This is extremly useful for when you have that flagarrier all alone and just need to buy some time for you buddies to get to you. Towards the orignal question, VS aaster, you definitly want to have a spell reflt mro (sadly, I dont have one for you, I just have my shield keybound to v in battle and berserker and Spell reflt in defensive, whh is keybound to shift+e). You should definatly be lking them down witho. Blow and shield bash, useing spell reflt as needed, while spamming devastate. Spam devastate for two reasons, one is that its your best instant attk with notD, and two is that you will bring their armor down to almost nothing. Other then that, just try to avoid them 1v1. Seeing as unless you time these things very well, you are probably going to lose. Prot justannot mah up to pure DPS sps in terms of damage.

Thanks for the reply, most people I haves spoken to think the BattlastFrozen Shadoweave sets are a goodombination so it was interesting to hear what you said. I’am also looking at getting the Belt of Blasting for a bit more firepower. I pve mainly and at 70 will be looking at raiding so based on that not so sure pvp armour is the way to go from the bg’s. But Iould be wrong Affltion and Demon are the talents I’am doing, moreso affltion, but again you mentioned the imp whh is something I didnt think most people would use at 70. In an instae I guess he would be good as extra fire power but isnt the Felguard a better option? That I’am not sure about as I’am still level 48 so havent gotten one yet. But i have seen a few 70′s around withnthe imp so is he the pet ofhoe later on in the game? Thanks again for the help. I wasn’t talking about diffulty level. Yes, every singlelass and sp in this game is fairly easy and straight forward. But with this pah, Paladins have essentially doubled the amount of tools they were previously using. Holy Shk was keyed, but rarely used. LoH was barely ever used due to the ft that you’re basally done healing anything signifant at that point. Both of thosean now be used fairly often. 2 extra instantast heals Add Bon (whh I thinkan have some serious potential if it was properly tweaked), a PW:S, some glyphs, and you have some fun tools to work with. I haven’t played thelass to death like you have though, so maybe that’s why I still like it. shrug Ignoraean be bliss I’m still looking forward to seeing how it goes. I already used Holy Shk, but to be fair thehanges to it are ne and it will bome a mh greater tool in helpingluh healing, divine favor + shk + insta HL = gewd, amirite? We also get to add AW into our list of spells. The Hand spells will add something for PvE even if they hurt PvP (srife). End of the day I still stand in 1 spot, move out of AOE, and use 2-3 assigned mouse keys repetitively while having another 3 or so assigned and ready to use sporadly. At least Ian thank bob that I am not a shaman spamming 1 spell though.At 80, you’ll probably want to pk uponvtion and Satified Seals for 8% spellrit. Your Holy side looks fine, and the rest of your points would go into Ret. Hey guys, Just dinged 26 in the Wetlands last night. After 6 levels of running around inontested areas… a Hordie finally got me. It was prettyheap too. A lk 34 snk up on me while I was turning in a quest. I washking out the items as a reward, next thing I know I’m feared and dead. Meh. I’ll get him bk. Anyway, I honestly think my VoidWalker is broken. I send him at the mob. Iasturse of Agony. I then throw in a orruption. Then throw a Immolate at the mob. By that time it looks like VW has taunted the mob for a sond time (slight referee to Quest for the Holy Grail). Well I start wanding the mob. I only got a green wand, it’s not some blue wand where dps is huge (like a full 7.0 more dps). Well I end up tanking, while still wanding this mob. I see VW do the taunt move, but the mob never looks his dirtion. This really has me a bit worried. I’m in a PvP server, and after some of the fights I’m about 50% HP, prime gankage material. Am I doing something wrong here? I really don’t want to just stand bk and do nothing. Prollyause I want the fights to be over fast so Ian keep moving, standing still is only a matter of time until a ?? finds me lol (I have PvP servers btw, but dided to try it again). Any suggestions would help. ThanksThis was a Horde (my people, so good on him) not getting taunted by your VW? Makes sense to me…we humans have freedom fo thought, after all…Lol, No. That 1st part was a little story. The question starts after the “anyway”. I’m referring to regular grinding mobs. I just did not feel the need to throw another about how I got ganked for the 1st time lol.
